Regeneration Timeline

What we’ve done so far

1989-2016

Our aim in these 17 years was to establish perennial pastures to build a strong humus layer and ensure all water leaving our property in our creeks was pure. During this time we fenced off many biodiversity corridors to protect 100 year old trees and extended these by planted new tree lanes.

2016

Looking to the future, we purchased 2230 acres of degraded land, using our experience of the benefits of establishing perennial grasses and tree planting to rehabilitate it.

2017

The program began on the degraded land, with water courses and erosion gullies mended and soil rehabilitation work. Six hundred trees were planted, one hundred of these were individually guarded paddock trees, while the rest created a new biodiversity block.

2018

Soil rehabilitation continued with the benefit of rotational grazing and our expert agronomist who has worked with us for 34 years. Three additional biodiversity lots were planted in collaboration with the Superb Parrot Saving our Species experts.

2019

On some of the newly acquired degraded land, we fenced off a salt affected area and we are now pleased it has 100% ground cover and is recovering. Additionally we planted 200 singularly guarded trees on the contours, which are now establishing.

2020

Our aim to connect our corridors was achieved by fencing off a 10-hectare riparian corridor and planting 2000 biodiversity supporting plants. In addition, we planted 600 trees and bushes in three fenced off areas, protecting aged trees and further supporting biodiversity, including Superb Parrots.

2021

Our commitment continues to enhance all forms of biodiversity by managing our soils, pastures and corridors. Further plantings in our biodiversity corridors continues and over 130 singularly guarded trees interspersed across our paddocks, has occurred so far this year.
